Lead and Copper Testing

We have conducted our every three year lead and copper testing and received the results. These are taken from random locations and our well heads to determine what lead and copper are in the system and how it is affecting your water.

The reportable level for copper in the system is 20 parts per billion and the maximum contaminant level is 1300 parts per billion. Our system falls almost completely under the reportable level with just a few locations showing 200 to 400 parts per billion, which is well below the limits for this element.

The reportable level for lead is 1 part per billion with the maximum contaminant level being 15 parts per billion. The highest anywhere in our system was 3 parts per billion with the majority falling at or under the 1 part per billion reportable level.

The testing from our well heads shows below the reportable level for both lead and copper, which means the contamination is likely occurring due to the varieties of plumbing in various houses. However, this testing shows that our water is not corrosive enough to cause problems for any house in our district.

If you would like more specific information about these test results please contact the office. The official numbers will be published in the next consumer confidence report.
